move it!Cliff Richard, christened as Harry Webb, was born in Lucknow, India, but came to England during the Indian uprising. After managing to fail his eleven plus, and going through a secondary modern school, he worked as a Credit control Clerk ast Atlas lamps, and by his own admission was pretty lousy at it. After playing around local pubs and clubs, he and his backing group gave a demo disc to a London agent, who promised to play it to Norrie Paramor of EMI. They were asked to audition, and passed. A contract was on it's way. The first single was Schoolboy Crush, with 'Move it' as a 'B' side. After a while of nothing in particular, Jack Good, from TV's 'Oh Boy' programme ( a bit like Top of the Pops) chose Move It to be sung in the programme. EMI chose to flip the single so 'Move it' became Cliff's first single. It got to No 2 in the UK charts, and the rest happened.
